Why Cookies and Similar Tools Are Used
Functional and administrative purposes
Cookies and local storage may be used to maintain account sessions, preserve authentication state, retain accessibility selections such as contrast and text size, support user convenience features, and help restore in-progress workflows where appropriate.
VIPS may also use these tools to understand application stability, diagnose technical issues, measure completion of critical flows, and support fraud detection or misuse review where abnormal activity is observed.
Some features may not function as intended if essential cookies or browser storage are disabled, including login continuity, saved plate pickers, account state, and selected accessibility preferences.
Managing Preferences
Browser and device controls
Most browsers permit users to review, delete, or block cookies and local storage entries. Users may also clear site data entirely through browser settings, privacy settings, or device-level controls.
Where a browser or device blocks storage required for session continuity, some parts of the VIPS experience may not remain signed in or may lose previously saved local preferences.
Operational Impact
What may happen if storage is cleared
- Users may be signed out of account sessions.
- Saved interface preferences may return to their default state.
- Prototype data stored locally, such as selected account context or temporary form state, may be lost.
- Some convenience features may require re-entry of information after clearing browser data.
